AUSTIN,
Texas – AUSTIN, Texas – Airport Fast Park has volunteered
their biodiesel shuttle services for the Clean Energy Venture Summit,
May 14 and May 15. Attendees receive complimentary chauffer services to
and from area restaurants and Clean Energy Venture Summit-related events.
The off-site airport parking company has volunteered shuttles for approximately
10 hours over the course of the two days. Their involvement with the Summit
is part of an on-going effort to provide fast and convenient services
for the Austin community, while being ecologically responsible.
“The Summit is a nexus of clean energy thought leaders, entrepreneurs,
investors and industry experts,” says Melanie Chavez, spokesperson
for Airport Fast Park. “It’s a natural fit for Airport Fast
Park to volunteer our services to such an important cause.”
The company’s Austin location, 2300 Spirit of Texas Drive, Del Valle,
has been running on biodiesel for more than a year. The fuel is a clean
burning alternative diesel, produced from domestic, renewable resources.
It contains no petroleum, but can be blended at any level with petroleum
diesel to create a biodiesel blend.
“Airport Fast Park in Austin currently uses 100 percent biodiesel
[known as B100] about 99 percent of time,” said Michael Anderson,
a principal with Airport Fast Park and graduate of The University of Texas
(1975). “When temperatures approach freezing or below, the shuttles
run on a biodiesel blend containing about 20 percent biodiesel [known
as B20]. Otherwise, it’s a simple fuel – that is biodegradable,
nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.”
In addition to clean burning fuel, the privately run facility has less
expensive parking than traditional airport parking; with online discounts
available for even more savings (www.airportfastpark.com). Currently the
company is offering parking for $7.00 a day, plus tax, and covered parking
is available. This price covers a full-gamut of services, including, shuttle
pick up at parking spot, luggage assistance, complimentary newspaper and
bottled water.
